A fantastic pair of banded agate earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these bold earrings features a large banded agate bead that hangs below a 10kt gold wire. The smoothly polished stones display a wonderful range of colors, including rich dark brown banded with stripes of creamy grey and white. In between the large bead and the earring wire is a small accent bead, completing the surmount and adding additional length. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, dangling with lovely movement! Despite their substantial size, they remain comfortable to wear. These stylish Victorian earrings merge effortlessly into modern fashion, and would make a wonderful everyday accessory!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 5/8" in total length, including the gold wires. The large banded agate beads at the base measure 20mm in size, while the smaller accent beads are 4mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold wires or banded agate stones, which are free of chips or scratches. The gold findings are all securely attached.
